VVS Laxman may put an end to all the speculations surrounding his retirement plans by making his decision public on Saturday.
Laxman made his Test debut in 1996 against South Africa and since then
played 134 Tests scoring 8781 runs, including 17 centuries and 56
fifties. He also played 86 ODIs scoring 2338 runs with six hundreds.
However, in his last 11 Tests, the Hyderabad batsman has scored just 635
runs and averaged 22.75 and 19.38 on the tours of England and Australia
respectively.
Laxman will be third of the 'Fab Four' to retire from international
cricket after Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid, with just Sachin
Tendulkar left in the international fold.
Laxman will hold a press conference at 4 p.m. on Saturday, where he is
expected to announce his retirement at the end of Hyderabad Test against
New Zealand.
